Safeguarding

Egerton Rothesay school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils and expects all members of the school community to share this commitment and follow best safeguarding practice.

As part of our commitment to safeguarding our pupils we do not allow them to have access to their mobile phones whilst at school, other than 6th form pupils, who are currently allowed access to their mobile phones during the school day if used responsibly. Our experience to date indicates that this enhances the pupils learning as well as avoiding potential social media pressures during the school day. Phones are taken in at the morning registration and return at the end of the school day to be available to children whilst travelling to or from school.

Our DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) and DDSL (Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead) work directly with the Leadership team, the Senior Management team and also meet regularly with the Designated Governor for Safeguarding. Regular Safeguarding training is provided for all staff in line with statutory guidelines and best practice is promoted throughout the school community. CPOMs software is used for recording and monitoring of safeguarding incidents enabling patterns and incidents to be swiftly recognised and action taken. A Safeguarding report is discussed at all meetings of the Board and Governing body to ensure that Safeguarding remains a key focus at every level in the school.

The DSL is Mrs Sarah Vest and the DDSL Mrs Ingrid Holt they can be reached via (dsl@eger-roth.co.uk)

The Designated Governor for Safeguarding is Jon Reynolds (govadv.jr@eger-roth.co.uk)
