Achievements & Outcomes

Our aim is that each child is able to progress and so achieves to their fullest potential in as many areas as possible. Working towards agreed outcomes allows the child to mark and celebrate the progress they have made, both in the short term and over a longer period of time.

In addition to their school reports, pupils at ERS have an Individual Pupil Profile (IPP) which outlines their strengths and needs and identifies strategies to support the pupil’s learning. Specialist and classroom staff also identify short term outcomes that the pupil is working towards and these are reviewed regularly with both the pupil and their parents. For pupils who have an EHCP, the short-term outcomes are linked to the long-term outcomes identified in the plan.

Progress and achievement might be measured in terms of academic success, or by achieving an outcome that a child has been working towards with a specialist teacher or therapist for a period of time. However, someachievements – such as personal development, the confidence to take part in Drama or Music performances, the willingness to take part in classroom discussion or be part of a team - are equally important and are an integral part of our focus at ERS.
