Admissions

We have a thorough admissions process to help you feel confident that ERS is the right school for your child—and to ensure that we are confident that ERS can provide the support your child needs to thrive. During the process we consider the needs of each individual child very carefully before deciding whether we are able to offer a place and whether we feel we can support your child within an appropriate peer group and within the scope of our provision and specialist resources.

We encourage all interested parents to visit and see the school in action, either during an Open Morning, or by booking an individual tour with our Registrar, Mrs Fai Peers (registrar@eger-roth.co.uk).

Our admissions process begins with a review of relevant paperwork by the Admissions team. This includes any professional reports, school reports, SEN support plans and also the EHCP and annual review paperwork if your child has one. This will help us to assess whether we can meet your child’s needs within the scope of our provision, our specialist resources and in an appropriate peer group.

Having reviewed the paperwork, if we feel that we might be able to help, we will invite you to meet with a senior member of our admissions team to talk further about your child’s strengths, interests and needs and how we might be able to support them.

If both you and we agree to move forward with the admissions process, we will then arrange for your child to visit us. The visit usually takes place over three consecutive days, during which your child will join an appropriate peer group and follow the class timetable. They will also work with and be observed by relevant members of our SEN team. The three days also gives us and your child an opportunity to get to know each other a little better.

Before your child can visit us, you will be asked to complete registration and medical forms and pay a non-refundable registration fee of £250 + VAT.

Following your child’s visit, the admissions team will carefully consider feedback from the members of staff who worked with your child and will decide whether to offer a place and, if so, what support and provision we would put in place to meet their needs. If a decision is made to offer your child a place, you will receive an offer letter setting out the specialist provision your child would require and a detailed estimate of the fees.

In order to secure the place that has been offered, you will be required to return a signed copy of the school’s Contract for Education and pay a deposit of £1500 + VAT, which will be credited against the second term’s fees. If an offer is secured with Local Authority funding, you will still need to sign the Contract for Education but the deposit would not be required. This constitutes acceptance of the place and the provision that will then be put in place for your child. In the event of withdrawal, a term’s notice is required in writing, or the payment of a term’s fees in lieu of notice.
