Rowan News - 15th May 2026

Congratulations to Oliver in year 7 who mastered the slackline in his Friday afternoon activity last week - it took a lot of courage to overcome his nerves and then find that he could not only move along it forwards but backwards too!

Gentleness was the theme of the week in school this week - there have been lots of examples in Rowan Base.  Gentle hands are needed when collecting bugs - Joe and Amelia were especially gentle.  Amelia looked after Stripy the beetle for the whole of the session and both pupils gently released their bugs back to their natural habitat.  A gentle and steady hand was also needed when building shelters - the pupils quickly found that you couldn’t just chuck the sticks and foliage at the shelters, but some care and teamwork was needed.  Teamwork and gentle careful hands are also needed to build towers of cups that are as tall as yourself which has been a favourite activity this week.

Have a lovely weekend
