Rowan News - 13th March 2026
In RE this week year 7 learnt that in the UK Mothering Sunday started as a Christian celebration - a break during the middle of Lent, where families would visit their mother church and get together. We thought about what we might find difficult to give up for Lent - chocolate, sweets, biscuits, TikTok, and video games, and things that would not be so difficult - broccoli and most vegetables! The pupils also thought about the women in their lives and what they could thank them for. Some lovely pictures of this can be seen below:

Well done year 9s for completing your options choices and getting them to Dr Forssling - lots of you are going to be trying new subjects in year 10 which will be really exciting.
Well done to year 10s who have now finished their assessments and can have a well-deserved break this weekend. Year 10 also have a parents evening next week on Thursday evening for a progress check following the assessments.
