Poplar News - 1st May 2026
This week PRN have been reviewing the outline for a Journey story in their Literacy lessons. In Maths, PRN have been solidifying their understanding of the 12 vs. 24-hour clock and how to convert between the two. PRN have also completed their dioramas of the layers of the Amazon Rainforest and are excited to begin their new Topic unit: The Roman Empire. When learning about Rivers, PSS studied evaporation and condensation and their role in the water cycle; they also discovered the reason why rivers are freshwater, and the sea is salty. They explored how rivers shape landscapes and support habitats for plants, animals, and people. PIH talked about churches and mosques in their PE lessons. They shared experiences from attending mass and learned about bell ringing and prayers. In Topic, they continued their learning about the importance of oceans by locating the Great Barrier Reef and discussing the benefits of a coral reef.
