Poplar News - 13th March 2026

This week, the PSS Maths group have enjoyed learning about measurement. They have been busy measuring the height, length, mass, volume and capacity of nearly all the appropriate movable items in the classroom! As part of their topic about Italy, PIH learnt about Pompei and the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 CE. In Literacy, PIH read the story of ‘The Watertower’ and discovered that picture books are not just for small children! They are learning about the elements of a scary story involving UFOs and aliens. In Science, PRN have accepted a challenge to help a hockey team win more matches. They will be learning all about health and fitness over the next couple of weeks. This week, the children have enjoyed learning more about the players, their diet, and their lifestyles.

I hope the Parent Consultations were useful. It was great to catch up with everyone. A reminder that the children will be going to Tiggywinkles next Thursday and will need a packed lunch. If you have any spare dog food which could be donated, please send this in with your child. Tiggywinkles is a charity and relies on donations to feed the high number of injured animals they care for.

If you have any messages or information for the teachers, please use the Home School Link books which are checked every day.  I can also be contacted by email on ingrid.holt@eger-roth.co.uk, but if you have an urgent message please contact Suzie Bennett in the main office.

Kind regards

Ingrid Holt
