Jobs at ERS
Egerton Rothesay has a team of approximately 100 people who work, either full- or part-time, in a range of roles that deliver or support the special educational experience that we want to provide for each pupil.
Roles within the team
Teaching
With our core age range being Years 5–11 the majority of our teaching posts are subject based but we also have class teachers for the lower age children, whether within our mainstream years or our Springboard or Rainbow groups. Experience of teaching children who need additional support and/or Special Needs is an asset but, as with all our pupil-facing roles, we do provide comprehensive training.
Teaching Assistants
As well as small class groups we also employ TAs (also known as Learning Support Assistants, LSAs) to support the teaching in the group (our staff to pupil ratio is sometimes as low as 6:1) so that each pupil has the right level of adult help and support. These roles are flexible and, whilst usually class based, there can be a role as an assistant for a specific child.
Administration
To ensure the school runs smoothly – and that we can deliver the educational environment we promise – we need a professional admin team. The skills we require range from reception to secretarial, from accountancy to IT, from catering to maintenance – and here again we need people who can be part of the wider team and can enjoy working with and for our pupils.
Basis of the school
ERS is a school with a Christian basis which we try to apply at all levels within the running of the school. Members of the team need to be comfortable with supporting those aims but, as with our children, we have in our team those from all faiths – and indeed none.
